(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - Put into use in October 2017, the composite shell ship of Duong Van Rin fishermen, Chau Thuan Bien village, Binh Chau commune (Binh Son) initially brought about efficiency, opening up the prospect. materials for building wooden shell ships.
"The advantage of this new material vessel is its high safety, good product preservation and low maintenance costs," Rin affirmed. After nearly 8 months of tuna fishing practice and logistics, composite ship, Rin's 850CV capacity has not been malfunctioning.
According to Mr. Rin, since the composite is less affected by seawater, just clean the hull; while the weight is approximate to the wooden shell ship, so the speed is stable, helping the ship operate safely and efficiently. The ship is installed with LED technology lighting system and solar battery system, so it saves a lot of fuel. Therefore, even though the sea session lasts 25-30 days, Mr. Rin's ship is not an oil pump, pumping many times like a wooden shell ship.
Ship of composite shell of Mr. Duong Van Rin docked after landing.
In addition, cold tunnels, decks, cabins, tunnels are used with a three-layer structure (sandwich structure), reducing noise, vibration and heat resistance, helping to improve living conditions for fishermen. "Especially, the heat-retaining efficiency of the cold tunnel system is much better than that of the wooden casing. The whole sea is 25 days old, but the stone is still almost raw, the product is well preserved, guaranteed quality, so the price is higher, ”said Rin.
As the first composite ship of the province, since the introduction, Mr. Rin's ship has received the attention of many fishermen in the province. “In addition to managing, operating, comparing efficiency with wooden shell ships, I am also exploring more investment and maintenance costs,” said Nguyen Dinh Linh fisherman, Chau Thuan Bien village, Binh Chau commune.
At present, the cost of composite shell vessels is approximately the same size as the wooden shell ship, but lower than the steel shell ship of the same size and equipment. However, if mass production, the cost of composite hull components is lower than that of wooden hulls and steel casings of the same type. For maintenance, composite ships of 3-4 years only "make water" once, at a cost of about 10 million VND. Meanwhile, wooden shell ships must "make water" 1-2 times a year, costing VND 30 million / time.
Not only has the price suitable, ensures the sustainability, safety and efficiency in the process of offshore development (still works well with wind waves of level 7 and level 8), the development of composite material ships still has solutions. resolving wood shortage, contributing to forest protection. Moreover, according to Decree 17, composite shipbuilders with a capacity of over 800CV are supported once 35% of the new investment value, but not more than 6.7 billion VND / ship.
Therefore, in addition to propagating and disseminating contents of Decree 17, the fisheries sector and local authorities should encourage fishermen to build new ships with new materials, in order to improve the efficiency of offshore fishing.
